Uxbridge-based foodservice and food retailing equipment provider, Fri-Jado UK, has broadened its range of modular counters to meet the needs of the grab & go sector.
The company offers models for the display of hot, chilled or ambient food, which may be supplied in 750mm or 1,000mm case lengths. Modules may be easily suited to create in-line counter runs for the display of hot, chilled and ambient food, designed to provide a consistent merchandising solution for food to go offerings.
Fri-Jado’s range of modular service counters are available with a choice of square or curved glass profiles, which are said to provide high visibility of merchandise, promoting impulse purchases.
Cabinet illumination should further enhance the visibility of the food on display, while thermo glass insulation is designed ensures stable cabinet temperatures. Modules are suitable for self-service or assisted service operations and feature ergonomic sliding rear glass doors, providing ease of access for service and restocking.
The counters are manufactured in stainless steel, with a powder coated interior and exterior finish, claimed to facilitate cleaning regimes. Fri-Jado’s modular counters are offered with a variety of custom finishes, cladding and colours to meet house livery and style. The company also offers a neutral base, suitable for mounting a coffee machine or checkout tills.
The range of hot counters benefits from a combination hot air and heated shelving, designed to ensure heat consistency. Hot air is circulated to each shelf to maintain optimum display temperature throughout the unit. The hot counters are suitable for a wide range of pre-cooked food to go items, including pies, pasties, savoury pastries, panini, hot rolls, chicken portions and potato wedges.
Chilled units incorporate refrigeration and humidity control to maintain stable storage temperatures. The chilled counters are designed for the display of a wide variety of snacks, including sandwiches, rolls, baguettes, wraps, sushi, salads, dairy products and cold drinks. Ambient merchandisers may be used for the display of high margin cakes, pastries and biscuits.
Accurate temperatures in both the hot and cold units should ensure that product is held over extended periods, without deterioration in quality or appearance.
As the counters are modular, standalone units, Fri-Jado feels they can be easily installed. The counters may be relocated on the sales floor, in a variety of configurations, to provide merchandising flexibility.
Fri-Jado UK’s sister company TEC Line offers installation, commissioning and maintenance services for the company’s products.
