Foster Refrigerator has been hailed as a “trailblazer” within the foodservice refrigeration industry for creating a comprehensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
The company gained the silver award in the ‘Best CSR report’ category at the 2013 International CSR Excellence Awards, held recently on HMS Belfast in London.
Foster published its latest CSR report earlier this summer, the second it has produced.
Richard Collins, of the International CSR Excellence Awards, said: “Foster Refrigerator is a trailblazer for its industry and truly understand that CSR is a fundamental aspect of good business.”
Foster’s report provides a detailed, data-driven analysis of Foster’s work in four key areas: climate change; social responsibility; sustainability; and independent verification, covering its commitment to the environment including low carbon manufacturing, recycling, local sourcing and employee development.
It also details the advancements made by Foster to grow its range of energy efficient refrigeration equipment, specifically its EcoPro G2 range.
Foster Refrigerator’s head of marketing, Laura Kirk, said it’s vital that stakeholders have full access to the company CSR activities. “To now have this important work recognised in an international award both validates and enhances our commitment,” she said.
