Tod Harrison, the MD of refrigeration servicing company, Flowrite, has completed a Channel swim for charity.

He and his brother swam a two-man relay to raise funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association.

The challenge took 18 hours and 20 minutes “due to tides and slow swimmers”, according to Harrison.

He added: “It was the hardest thing I have done by far.

“I was swimming in the dark getting stung by jellyfish on the face and body – it took all our mental strength.”

He has already smashed his fundraising target of £2,000, with the total currently standing at £2,590 (including Gift Aid).
