Flowrite CEO to take on desert race for charity

Flowrite CEO Tod Harrison is fundraising for Scope.

Tod Harrison, CEO of refrigeration and air conditioning servicing firm Flowrite Services, is to take on the famous Marathon Des Sables on 3 April 2020.

He is running to raise money for disability charity Scope, which is close to his family’s heart.

Harrison explained: “I am running in memory of my Mum, Iris, who passed away recently and has left a massive hole in our family.

“I wanted to do something that will be tough enough to keep me focused and decided on the Marathon Des Sables – a race across the desert.”

The Marathon Des Sables is a five day ultra-marathon across the Sahara desert, covering around 250km which is the equivalent of six marathons with one long stage of 50 miles.

The multi day event is held is Southern Morocco every year in the Sahara desert and has been called ‘the toughest foot race in the world’. Runners are self-sufficient, carrying all food and supplies to camp in the desert.
