First Choice’s new HQ wins architectural award

The First Choice Kingswood Lakeside site has won the RICS Awards, West Midlands Commercial category.

The First Choice Group’s purpose-built Kingswood Lakeside facility in Cannock, Staffordshire has won an architectural award for its design.

The win was in the Commercial category at the annual Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards, West Midlands, which this year was held at the Grand Station in Wolverhampton on 2 May.

The RICS event celebrates inspirational initiatives in the region’s land, property and construction sectors.

BBC Midlands Today news presenter, Mary Rhodes was the host for this year’s ceremony which attracted hundreds of local property professionals.

First Choice’s new £20m headquarters was completed last year and spans 100,000ft2. The building incorporates a three storey office and several commercial kitchens for training purposes.

The new premises has provided capacity for increased customer support, engineer training and customer services across the company. The office space has also allowed the spares specialist to increase capabilities in key areas, such as the parts automation centre and the engineer training facilities.

  1. Was this not based on the the remedial and redevelopment from the open cast mine it was built upon more than the actual building design?.

  2. The award was for the ground redevelopment not the facility.
    First Choice incorrectly blowing it’s own trumpet!
