First Choice turns customer satisfaction into hospitality charity funds

not alone

First Choice Group has donated £630 to Hospitality Action; the benevolent organisation established to assist people working within hospitality who are afflicted by ill health, poverty, bereavement or domestic violence.

Directors, John Whitehouse and Carl Bate, decided they would donate £10 to a good cause for every customer satisfaction survey (they sent out) which was completed and returned. There were 63 in total.

The decision to give the money to Hospitality Action was an easy one, they said.

Whitehouse commented: “We chose Hospitality Action because of the support it gives to our industry. It makes a real difference in people’s lives, helping them when they need help the most and at this time of year such support is invaluable.”

Established in 1837, Hospitality Action (formerly the Hotel and Catering Benevolent Association) provides crisis and essential needs grants for former and current workers in the UK hospitality industry.

It supports people who are: suffering from life altering illnesses, experiencing poverty, bereavement and domestic violence and people who are retired from the industry and may be isolated.

The money donated by First Choice Group will be used to provide those in need with essential items such as food, equipment and central heating. It will also help to fund educational seminars advising catering students of the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.
