First Choice Catering Spares has pushed back its cut-off time for next-day delivery to 5pm, allowing customers to place orders right up until the end of the working day.
The Cannock-based outfit said it was able to offer the extended deadline as a result of completing the latest phase expansion of its Parts Automation Centre (PAC).
The 5pm cut-off is available on all stocked parts throughout most of the UK mainland, the company said.
Additionally, First Choice has reviewed its delivery options to provide even faster delivery of parts for those that need urgent access.
Stock items ordered before 5pm can now be delivered before 10am the next day for a cost of £11.95.
“Caterers rely on service companies to keep them cooking and they cannot achieve this without the spares they need when and where they need them. Now they can get them from First Choice just that little bit faster,” said the company’s marketing chief Terry Stack.
First Choice completed the first stage of its PAC automated storage and retrieval system three years ago and increased its storage capacity by a factor of nine for the same footprint of the conventional racking systems they replaced.
The company now has 12 ‘Lean Lift’ mechanised storage units to accommodate up to 40,000 separate lines of spare parts in addition to the 5,000 lines of the larger items held in bulk storage.
