First Choice expands into food waste market

First Choice Catering Spares is to make a food waste equipment solution available to its customers after teaming up with US-based EnviroPure Systems.

The Cannock-based company is bringing the EPW system to the UK market, which provides rapid break down and elimination of food waste through a full decomposition system.

First Choice said it was “very excited” to be expanding into the food waste management sector, with the push being led by specialist project manager Martin Allen.

The company plans to showcase the product at the RWM Exhibition, which takes place at the NEC on 16-18 September.

The system is available in a variation of sizes to suit different applications, with capacities ranging from 54kg up to more than 3,000kg a day.

It works by breaking down the food waste in a submersed water-base environment, producing a grey water bi-product that meets or exceeds regulatory standards for safe disposal into municipal waste water systems.

First Choice has a long-standing relationship with its US trading partner T&S Brass, which acquired EnviroPure Systems in February 2013.

It made the acquisition to complement its portfolio of water efficient products that include electronic faucets and pre-rinse spray units.
