Filta Group hires new operations director

Julie Sutton is Filta Group’s new operations director.

The Filta Group has welcomed a new operations director with nearly 20 years’ experience in implementing processes and practices to make businesses and organisations work better.

Julie Sutton has joined the specialist in grease management systems including the GreaseMaster and FiltaSeal to formulate strategy, optimise performance, procure resources, meet compliance and ensure customer satisfaction, while developing key strategic contracts and forging more relationships with clients.

In particular, she is responsible for ensuring Filta’s a nationwide team of engineers are trained correctly and able to deliver installation and maintenance services, both planned and emergency, as well as overseeing the company’s warehouses and service desk.

“This is an entirely new industry for me, which is really exciting,” she said. “Filta has many high profile and respected clients and there is so much potential to drive the business and organisation further.

“One of the key elements of my role is ensuring our engineers have the right skill sets to carry out jobs successfully and that we can get the right person to the right job at the right time, meeting often frequent tight deadlines.

“There’s nothing more satisfying than delivering a high quality service to the multitude of customers on a daily basis. I’m really looking forward to the role and ensuring our team can deliver world class performance and customer satisfaction.”

Sutton, who was born and grew up in Belfast, attending Queen’s University and then started her career on National Grid’s Graduate Scheme, where she worked for 16 years, the last four in the high pressure role of emergency network manager for West Midlands Gas Distribution Network.

She then moved on to the role of head of service operations at Connect Distribution Services, where she was responsible for the delivery of a nationwide white goods repair service for clients including Dixons, Domestic and General, Panasonic, Co-op and Rangemaster.

Before joining Filta, Sutton was responsible for human resources, health and safety and supply chain at UK Power Reserve.

Filta’s MD, Edward Palin, said: “Julie has many years of expertise in operations and managing large teams across a wide geographic area, so she is a perfect fit for Filta.

“We have grown exponentially as a company and her skills and know-how will be absolutely invaluable in taking Filta into the next era. We welcome her to the team.”
