Foodservice Equipment Marketing’s (FEM) financial controller Mark Gallacher is proving to be a whizz on the seniors athletics circuit in Scotland.
On 22 August he competed in the British Masters Championships’ 3,000m M50 (over 50s) steeplechase in Derby, taking home a gold medal.
This win followed another victory in the Scottish Masters 3,000m steeplechase in July, winning in a personal best time and setting a new Scottish M50 record.
Gallacher commented: “It means everything to me to win these two titles.
“I now finish the season as Scottish and British champion, as well as the Scottish record holder, and I also represented Scotland last month for the first time since 1989 [a gap of 32 years between call ups].
“I am very grateful for the support Harry and Mark Hogan have given me.”
The former Motherwell Athletics Club runner is now an avid member of the Cambuslang Harriers.
