The FEA has once again signed up to back the Catering Insight Awards, supporting the Supplier of the Year – Training & Education category for the sixth time.

This honour is aimed at those manufacturers who have invested extensively in education programmes for the benefit of the industry over the past 12 months, particularly vital in pandemic times. This could be for their own staff, dealers or the wider sector.

The winner will be announced at the Catering Insight Awards’ gala night on Thursday 18 November at London’s 8 Northumberland Avenue, alongside 15 other categories.

FEA’s chair, Steve Hobbs, underlined: “FEA is committed to supporting the highest standards of training and education throughout the industry at all levels. This includes the Principles of Foodservice (PFS) course for employees new to foodservice and hospitality and the Certified Food Service Professional (CFSP), which is the industry’s leading learning and development programme.

“Supporting the Catering Insight Awards, which are widely recognised and applauded for being both independent and authoritative, demonstrates FEA’s commitment to promoting continuous professional development for individuals and businesses as it remains vital for the future success of our industry.”

Hobbs welcomed the return of the in-person event, following a Covid-enforced break last year which saw Catering Insight team up with sister title, Foodservice Equipment Journal, for the digital Kitchen & Equipment Awards: “After another difficult year it will be nice to be back together, face to face with friends and colleagues throughout the industry to celebrate the efforts that have been taking place to find new ways to meet the needs of customers while developing the skills of employees at every stage of their careers.

“The Catering Insight Awards have become an important part of the industry’s calendar, and provides a way to celebrate the efforts of the industry to improve and innovate across a range of areas.

“The last 2 years have been tough for many elements of the foodservice and hospitality industries. At times like this it’s important to take stock and celebrate the hard work being done to improve standards of training and education as they will be vital for the sector to continue to adapt and thrive.”
