FCSI UK and Ireland has appointed Matthew Merritt-Harrison, managing partner of Merritt-Harrison Catering Consultancy as its new chair.
Merritt-Harrison, who has been vice chair of the society since May this year, assumed the role of Chair on 6 December and takes over from Julian Edwards.
Merritt-Harrison has more than 40 years’ experience of the catering industry. A fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, he is also a former co-chair of the FCSI North American Conference and chair of a previous FCSI Worldwide Conference.
He said: “My focus now is to build upon the excellent work undertaken by Julian during his tenure, to ensure that new and former members are welcomed into the FCSI family and to promote the society as the authoritative voice of the industry.
“It is also vital that we further promote the value of employing FCSI consultants, all of whom are required to give completely impartial, unbiased advice to their clients as specified by the FCSI’s strict Code of Conduct.”
He will also continue to work closely with the FCSI in Europe and Worldwide to ensure that members have additional opportunities to develop their businesses and learn from the FCSI internationally.
Congratualtions Matthew, Good luck in your new role.
Best Regards
Glenn
