FCSI creates senior industry engagement role

Foodservice Consultants Society UK and Ireland (FCSI) is to create the new role of business development and industry relations manager.

The appointee will be specifically responsible for attracting new members to the association, improving internal and external communications and ensuring that strategic and policy work is carried out efficiently and effectively.

This announcement followed Andrew Etherington’s appointment as chairman, succeeding Niccola Boyd-Stevenson, MD of Panache Consultancy, who steps down from the role after her 2 year term.

The director of Andrew Etherington Associates was officially inaugurated in the chairman role at the FCSI’s Annual General Meeting on 2 July, hosted by Sodexo at HMS Belfast.

He commented: “Niccola has made an incredible contribution to FCSI and she leaves behind a tremendous legacy for me to follow. With her guidance I will seek to continue to raise awareness of the expertise that professional consultants can deliver to all our clients and to campaign on the most significant issues that our industry faces.

“Over the last few years we’ve worked hard to improve the value that we deliver to our members and the industry at large. My vision is to continue this journey through my ‘Back to Basics’ campaign.

“This will include delivering even more value for our members by creating new business opportunities, growing our membership and continuing to work collaboratively with other industry associations. I’ll also be working with our young professional members on fresh ideas and new ways of working to lay the foundations of our society for the future.”
