More than 50 executives from the food service industry paid tribute to outgoing FCSI Europe and Middle East chairman Tony Galvin during Hotelympia earlier this month.
The event, which was hosted by warewashing manufacturer Meiko, saw FCSI consultants, leading catering equipment distributors and project houses attend a dinner in Galvin’s honour at the historic Don Restaurant in the City of London.
UK managing director, Bill Downie, led the tributes to Galvin and hailed him for strengthening the role of the FCSI in the industry.
He said: “His energy, enthusiasm and, not least, sense of humour are legendary. The FCSI sets the benchmark for professionalism and integrity and Tony has worked tirelessly over many years to help raise the profile and influence of the FCSI, both in the UK and Europe.”
While Galvin has stepped down from his international FCSI roles, he confirmed at the dinner that he plans to remain an active member of the FCSI’s UK & Ireland branch.
He also continues to run the A&E Partnership with fellow FCSI professional member Liz Rose.
