Catering equipment manufacturer Falcon has ditched its old website and built a brand new one that it hopes will better reflect its position in the UK and support its international growth plans.
Steve Stenhouse, marketing communications manager at Falcon, said the move was much more strategic than just revamping what it had in place already.
“Rather than try and update the existing site, we decided it would be much better to start completely from scratch and build a website that is exactly what our customers wanted — namely the go-to place not only for Falcon information, but also technical and culinary expertise and general industry knowledge, guidance and advice,” he said.
As well as a new design and improved navigation, the new site now includes full product listings, buying guides and a product comparison tool. It has also introduced a ‘Chef’s Corner’ feature, offering opinions and advice on various culinary issues.
Earlier this year Falcon formally launched an operation in the Indian market to strengthen its export activities.
As it looks to increase the amount of sales it does overseas, Stenhouse admitted the site had been developed with a more international outlook in mind.
“As we continue to grow our export business we need a website that non-English speakers can find their way around easily in their native language,” he said. “That’s why we have made it easy to view the site in all the major international languages.”
Stenhouse said the company would look to add further content to the site moving forward in order to make it a tool that sales staff and distributors can use to promote the brand.
