Falcon Foodservice Equipment has taken on two recruits as part of the government’s Kickstart scheme.
Kickstart is a scheme aimed at providing 16 to 24 year olds opportunities to gain experience of work, helping them to build their skills and improving their chances of finding long term jobs. The pandemic disproportionately affected sectors that employed young people, with many being furloughed or even laid off.
The two new recruits are Caitlin and Chris. Caitlin is working predominantly with chef Shaune Hall in the development kitchen, as well as helping out with the marketing team.
Meanwhile, Chris has joined the spares department, ensuring spare parts are dispatched quickly and efficiently.
With the pandemic and the furlough scheme disproportionately affecting young people, Falcon states that it is committed to providing young people with real world experience.
Falcon’s HR manager Wendy Rodgers commented: “The Kickstart scheme is a fantastic way for young people to build valuable skills while earning. We’re thrilled to have Caitlin and Chris join Falcon and hope it is a useful foundation for them to build their careers on.”
