The British Stainless Steel Association and The Welding Institute (TWI) are teaming up to host a special seminar on stainless steel fabrication in two weeks’ time.
The event will include an introduction to stainless steel, material selection and good welding practice.
It will also address developments in friction stir welding, improvements in welding gases, post-fabrication finishing and welding duplex.
The session will kick off at 9am on Thursday 16 October. It takes place at the Copthorne Hotel in Sheffield.
The cost of attending the event, which includes lunch and refreshments, is £55 for BSSA and TWI members, and £70 for non-members.
The BSSA is also a hosting a number of one-day ‘starter workshops’ in the coming months.
The sessions provide a comprehensive introduction to stainless steel for people new to the industry looking for a refresher on the basics.
Topics include grades, finishes, corrosion, mechanical properties and applications of stainless steel.
