eXpresso PLUS targets hospital market

Coffee machine manufacturer, eXpresso PLUS, is aiming its latest Lavazza self-serve towers at the hospital sector.

The firm believes that this tower range can provide hospitals with the opportunity to offer a 24 hour hot drinks service. The machine can create an espresso in 28 seconds and serves a complete bean-to-cup espresso menu, plus a choice of teas, soup and hot chocolate.

eXpresso PLUS says the product requires minimal resource, maintenance and cleaning to run. A card reader payment option means the self-serve towers can offer drinks outside regular working hours.

As hospitals are busy around the clock, the beverage offering needs to be kept on 24/7. The tower uses its inbuilt ‘energy learn’ technology to enter a standby mode when not in use, enabling it to only work when required and quickly boot back up when a customer approaches. This is claimed to save up to 30% in energy consumption and subsequent costs.
