Mitchell & Cooper is bringing an exclusive new line to the UK that turns plates into instant vacuum storage vessels for food transportation.
The company has secured the rights to distribute the US-made PressDome system, which enables caterers to keep meals fresh and warmer for longer.
Mitchell & Cooper thinks the product will be ideal for distributors serving the cost sector catering market, particularly hospitals and care home caterers that want to ensure food nutrients are retained as time passes.
The covers work by pressing down the pump to expel air and create an airtight seal in seconds. With just one press, a leak-proof seal is activated, which forms a vacuum around the dish. Mitchell & Cooper claims the system keeps food fresher for “up to three times longer than traditional methods”.
The PressDome is safe for use in the refrigerator, freezer and top rack of a dishwasher. It can also be put in a microwave when good needs to be reheated.
The system is available in a variety of sizes to store everything from side plates and salads to whole roast chickens and watermelon slices.
