Meiko UK has appointed Craig Barnett as regional sales manager, covering the Midlands area.

He has moved from a business development manager role at Newco Catering Equipment, now owned by JLA, to join the company.

Reporting to middle England sales director Peter Nimmo, Barnett has a technical background, training first as an electrical engineer and progressing through Newco technical services to technical services supervisor and business development manager roles.

He commented: “I have worked on all types of gas and electric catering equipment as well as dishwashers. Over 11 years working in technical services across the Midlands, I knew Meiko’s build quality and had confidence in the brand. I could judge its reliability by the fact that I did not need to repair it as often as much as the others out there.

“When the opportunity came to join Meiko and specialise in warewashing, I knew it was too good to miss and grabbed it with both hands.

“My technical background is a bonus. Customers appreciate that a salesman with in-depth technical knowledge can offer sound advice and help them choose the best performing solution, not only in terms of wash quality, but also in terms of benefits for staff and cost savings.”

Nimmo added: “The high demand for Meiko products meant we needed fresh new blood with a technical background and a proven track record of excellent customer service. Craig fits the bill perfectly.”
