Catering design and equipment specialist IFSE has tempted Steven Hussey to ‘jump the fence’ from one of the largest contract caterers in the UK.
The distributor believes that Hussey’s time at the major contract caterer, as well as other caterers and operators, means he brings key knowledge and experience in catering operation to the IFSE family.
Speaking about making the jump from client to design house, he said: “I was eager for a new opportunity and to use the knowledge I have gained through working in operations in another way. I have always been obsessed with making catering areas more efficient – now I can do that every day and make them visually stunning as well.”
Joining the six-strong team in the sales department, IFSE feels that a contract catering focus will bring a level of expert understanding that will bolster it ahead of the competition.
Hussey added: “My previous career has allowed me to know only too well the day to day issues that face a caterer – much of what we do at IFSE is to solve those problems and issues through our designs.
“Contract catering is extremely client focused – maintaining strong relationships to fully understand the needs of their business.”
Looking to the future of catering industry, he also commented: “Just like everyone else I am always excited by the new technology we’re seeing in the industry. Looking at the way IFSE integrates this new tech into their schemes, I can now be a part of that.”
IFSE operations manager, Julia Hill, added: “Steven has already exceeded expectations at IFSE by working on key projects in his first few weeks.
“As contract caterers are an important part of our client base, his knowledge and expertise within the contract catering industry is invaluable to our business as a whole. Steven has fitted in with our team very well and is already a popular and valuable colleague.”
