Grantham-based GEV Catering Spares has appointed Nick Hughes as UK sales director. He will work alongside MD Bryn Vivian, but will cover Wales, Scotland and the West of England, with Vivian continuing to look after clients in Northern Ireland and the East of England.
Hughes was previously MD of competitor Euro Catering Parts in Oldham and following his departure, a notice on the firm’s website states the company is under new management. Joe Murray was appointed as director on 22 January and he also holds directorships for engineering and sensor manufacturing group, Precision 21, and MPE Engineering, among others.
Hughes started his career with Stott Benham before spells with Electrolux and First Choice Catering Spares, as well as Commercial Catering Spares.
Talking about his new position, Hughes said: “This is a really exciting time in my career, I’m thrilled at having been appointed as the sales director for such a large company and I can’t wait to assist GEV to develop and expand its presence within the UK market. I feel that the company has a great deal to offer both new and existing customers, as well as my own industry experience.”
GEV is entering its sixth year of trading in the UK and has invested in its services, including improvements to its webshop usability; the launch of an app providing parts information and the opportunity to purchase them; plus the new extended order cut-off time of 6pm for next day delivery.
