Three catering equipment manufacturers and suppliers have played an instrumental part in helping to train the next generation of chefs in Asian cooking.
Regale Microwaves, Jestic Foodservice Equipment and Panasonic Commercial Microwave Ovens were part of the sponsorship team backing this year’s Zest Quest Asia contest, a competition run by renowned chef Cyrus Todiwala.
The event involves teams from catering colleges around the country cooking and preparing a four-course Pan-Asian meal within 2.5 hours, plus presenting a slideshow about their menus.
Six finalists took part in the competition yesterday at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 Hotel, with the winners being announced at a gala dinner there last night.
The eventual victors were Milton Keynes College, with the team winning a trip to Bangkok, which is partly funded by the event’s sponsors.
