Catering equipment buying consortium ENSE held its national conference last week at the Chesford Grange hotel in Warwickshire under the new name of the ENSE Equipment Partnership Summit.
The buying group decided, given the complications of the last year and the resulting pressures the industry has been put under, that a summit was needed to bring members and suppliers back together to enhance relationships and connect with new and existing customers in a way the industry has missed for over a year.
The main event saw 70 suppliers attend, with over 120 buyers undertaking discussions as to the requirements for the catering industry in the coming year.
A representative from one supplier at the event, Marlowe Kitchen Fire Suppression, said: “This is a great opportunity to meet new customers and maintain current customers.”
While a spokesperson from tableware specialist Nevilles commented: “It feels surreal to be face-to-face again.”
ENSE CEO and founder, Bob Adams, was on hand throughout the summit to make connections between members, and spoke of the importance of all parties being seen and heard within the independent consortium. “Our alliance is based on transparency and inclusivity,” he said.
“Whilst we were frustrated at having to restrict numbers due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, we are encouraged that our next summit, to be held of 5-7 April 2022, we will be able to celebrate 10 years of doing exceptional business, together with a full house!”
