The samples offer an effective way to match a gasket for older refrigerators or where no model or serial number can be found.

Bryn Vivian, GEV’s director, said the sets contain 60 of the most commonly-used profiles in refrigeration appliances, which increases the chances of engineers being able to carry out repairs promptly with minimal downtime.

“Getting the fault fixed the first time is vital in the catering industry. The ready availability of spare parts helps to ensure that the restaurant or kitchen runs as efficiently as possible and that it can deliver its range of menu items,” he said.

Once an item has been used, it can easily be replenished to keep the box full, while a handle and slide lock allow for portability and added security for busy engineers.

GEV Catering Spares is the UK sales office of GEV GmbH, which was founded in Germany in 1991. The head office is based in Munich, where it stocks more than 70,000 catering and refrigeration parts.

GEV commenced operations in the UK three years ago and since then the company says it has filled up to 25,000 orders supplying hundreds of service customers throughout the UK.
