Germany-headquartered cooking equipment manufacturer Eloma has won an iF Design Award for its compact Joker combi oven.
Each year, the world’s oldest independent design organisation, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design, runs the iF Design Award. The new Joker convinced the 98-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its modular concept adapting to the individual needs of the user, as well as with its contemporary design. The competition was intense: almost 10,000 entries were submitted from 52 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.
Eloma’s MD Mark Joseph Müller said: “Exactly 3 years ago we started the project ‘the new Joker’ with neuroscientific user analyses in order to use objective methods to determine how we can make everyday work in the professional kitchen even more efficient.
“After many months of hard and passionate work, we not only experience great feedback and demand from our partners and customers, but also receive further appreciation in the form of this award. I am incredibly proud of the entire team.”
The first Joker was launched in 1998, and the latest updated version reached the market in 2020. This compact model has a width of 52cm, and offers modular options and individual solutions for configuration.
This year, the Joker has already received a National Restaurant Association Show KI Award.
