Unit sales of Ecomax warewashers for the five months to May were up 75% on the same period last year, Hobart Independent has claimed.
The manufacturer rolled out a fresh line of Ecomax machines in January after switching production from a shared factory in Italy to the Hobart plant in Germany. It insists customers have been “won over” by the new design and performance.
The range is also priced to meet the budget constraints of small and medium independent caterers.
Stuart Bester, business manager at Hobart Independent, said the launch had “exceeded our expectations”, adding that the uptake has put the business on course to more than double its sales this year.
Hobart Independent is the UK division of Hobart that was set up to sell exclusively through distributors. As well as Ecomax, it also manages the BarAid brand.
“The unrivalled appeal of the range means we have new and existing dealers on board who are absolutely delighted with the quality and performance of the kit,” said Bester.
One distributor, Peterborough-based CaterFix, said it would continue to support Hobart Independent’s brands following feedback on the equipment from its customers.
“In difficult times, the German build quality at a very reasonable price makes all the difference when convincing the customer not to buy cheaper European models,” said CaterFix’s managing director, David Iacono. “We have had good feedback from our end-users who are impressed with the results and reliability so far. They are also easy to install and come with flexible supply options.”
The Ecomax range includes two glasswashers, one front-loading dishwasher, a pass-through dishwasher and two rack conveyor models.
