Double addition deal for JLA

JLA Group has bought out two further catering equipment-related firms: Newco Catering Equipment and Comcat Engineering.

These latest moves mark JLA’s sixth and seventh catering acquisitions in two years, as part of the growth strategy for its catering division.

Newco, based in Coventry, has been trading since 2003 and provides catering equipment supply and servicing across a broad range of market sectors. Its quality of service is said to be due in part to having more specialist engineers per square mile than any other provider in the Midlands.

Comcat, with offices in Inverness and Aberdeen, has provided repair, installation and maintenance services to the commercial catering industry across north Scotland for over 15 years.

Alongside JLA’s existing UK-wide team of sales consultants and engineers, Newco and Comcat’s expertise and experience will further enhance JLA’s customer offer and service response. The move also means its customers will benefit from a 40% increase in dedicated catering engineers.

Stephen Baxter, JLA Group CEO, said: “We were attracted to both of these businesses because of the expertise they have, the regard they are held in and the people that have made them successful. They will complement our catering division perfectly and allow us to further strengthen our engineer coverage and service to our rapidly growing customer base.”
