A domestic kitchen-fitting firm in the south west of England has declared its intent to drive into the commercial market after recently being contracted to design and install the kitchen for a hotel cookery school.
Hobson’s Choice, which has branches in Swindon, Bath and Winchester, worked with Exclusive Hotels and Venues on the project, which is one of several in the professional side of the market that it has now completed.
Graham Craig, marketing manager at Hobson’s Choice, said the company is eager to expand this aspect of its business.
“Historically, Hobson’s Choice has concentrated on the more high-end domestic market," he said. "However, in more recent times, larger commercial/developer projects are becoming more regular sources of work. This is the first cookery school we have designed and installed. Going forward, we would hope to get involved in more projects like this."
The project with Exclusive Hotels and Venues saw the firm install a range of German-built equipment at a site in Winchester.
“Working together with Exclusive Hotels and Venues, our talented design and installation team created the kitchen area of the new Season, Exclusive Cookery School,” explained Craig. "Season has been built in a redundant wheelhouse barn adjacent to the kitchen garden of the 49-bedroom hotel."
The venue is unique for its Grade I listed donkey water wheel and glass-covered 55m well shaft. It hosts a range of public master classes and bespoke corporate events in addition to the being the home of the Exclusive Chefs’ Academy.
