Distributors to get a lesson in contract law

Delegates attending this week’s CEDA conference in Oxfordshire will have the chance to learn about the latest developments in contract law, the association has confirmed.

Suzannah Nichol, chief executive of the National Specialist Contractors’ Council (NSCC), has been lined up to update distributors on everything they need to know about contract law, retentions and fair payment.

She will share the knowledge she has from developing effective lobbying tools to campaign for fair payment practices in the construction industry.

The Fair Payment Campaign from the NSCC has three key objectives: certainty of payment; 30-day payment; and removal of retentions.

“As we continue to fight through economic uncertainty the guidance and experiences that Suzannah presents will be invaluable,” stated CEDA.

NSCC has 30 member organisations representing more than 7,000 specialist contractors across the spectrum of building trades. Since joining in 2002, Nichol has developed NSCC into an effective and recognised lobbying organisation working on behalf of specialist contractors.
