Fatboys Catering Equipment, Brakes Catering Equipment and Direct Kitchen Equipment were the big winners at the CESA Heavy Equipment Forum networking awards dinner last night.
Fatboys collected the ‘Distributor of the Year’ award for its achievements in growing sales, driving customer satisfaction and implementing initiatives to improve business. The award was exclusively voted for by CESA suppliers.
Brakes won the ‘Outstanding Sales Initiative of the Year’ for the work that it has done to increase heavy equipment sales.
Presenting the award, CESA director Keith Warren paid tribute to the investment that Brakes has made in a new development kitchen at its corporate headquarters in Covent Garden, London.
“The facility was developed in response to the needs of clients and there has been a real focus on innovation. It contains the latest induction cooking equipment, sous vide equipment and other modern cooking technologies. The project has led to 400 customers visits in the last year,” said Warren.
The final award of the night went to Direct Kitchen Equipment, of Royston in Hertfordshire, which Warren said had successfully “evolved” from a tableware business into a company that also now provides a comprehensive heavy duty offering.
The CESA Heavy Equipment Forum, which is held in conjunction with Cedabond, enters its second day today, with suppliers and distributor members of Cedabond meeting together in closed-door networking sessions that rotate every 30 minutes. The event is taking place at Whittlebury Hall Hotel in Northamptonshire.
