Marshall Catering Equipment has reflected on some of the key challenges facing its business as it celebrates more than three decades of operating in the market.
The company has been providing commercial catering equipment in and around Yorkshire for over 35 years and in this time the industry and town it operates in has changed significantly, according to current director, Jonathan Skinner.
He says that in the years the Wetherby-based company has been trading it has seen many things change, non-more than the focus of health and safety in the workplace.
“Creating a safe and efficient commercial kitchen can be hard, some businesses have turned to self-installing equipment to save a few pounds and make their bank balance more attractive,” he said.
“Buyers are turning to the internet to find quality products at low prices, often missing the vital service and installation they require by law from a reputable Gas Safe-registered engineer.”
Marshall has developed its own ecommerce website and, not wanting to fail to keep up with the times, has has grown to provide catering and consultancy services through the UK.
Within the next five years, it plans to expand its online presence and marketing operations to offer its service across the UK.
“The company has always ‘catered for every business’s needs’ – a phrase that has been carried through the years by the company,” insists Skinner. “We work with hundreds of businesses in and around Yorkshire and we know that a friendly and familiar face is one that our customers love and trust.”
