Dentons supplies kit for landmark GBK kitchen

Dentons Catering Equipment has supplied the kitchen equipment for the 60th Gourmet Burger Kitchen to open in the UK and the first to feature its new revamped lay-out.

The premium burger company is currently rolling out a major rebranding programme, which includes the introduction of open kitchens and reformatted front-of-house areas.

The new restaurant in Wandsworth, which marks a return to the firm’s roots, showcases the revamped GBK brand and features a triple height interior with two mezzanines, a spiral staircase and an open kitchen.

Clapham-based Dentons supplied all the catering equipment for the project, while the architect for the new lay-out was London-based Moreno Masey.

Katie McDermott, marketing director at GBK, said: “The new restaurant marks our 60th GBK and the first to open in our new look branding, so it’s particularly special to be opening it in Wandsworth — the borough where it all started.”

GBK was first established in 2001 with a small 30-cover restaurant in Battersea. It was the brainchild of three New Zealanders who aimed to create fresh, quality gourmet burgers reminiscent of those they were used to back home. Half of the group’s restaurants are based in London.
