Dealers prompt RBD to revise order deadline

Catering equipment wholesaler RB Distributors has extended its next-day delivery deadline to 5pm with immediate effect.

The move gives dealers an extra two hours to place their orders and still have the peace of mind that they will receive the product the next day.

RBD said feedback it received from dealers suggested its original 3pm deadline was “restrictive”, but claimed the extension meant it now offered a service that couldn’t be matched elsewhere.

Sales manager, Tony Mercer, said: “In recent months we has been aware of dealers finding our previous order deadline restrictive, and therefore we are delighted to be able to extend this to 5pm, making us the latest guaranteed delivery wholesaler in the country.”

Bristol-based RBD’s current stock profile extends to 18,000 lines. The new delivery facility applies to both web and phone orders and product can be despatched to either the dealer or their customer.

RBD’s decision to extend its next-day delivery cut-off to 5pm mirrors attempts elsewhere in the industry supply chain to improve service levels.

Spare parts suppliers First Choice and Caterparts have both moved to 5pm order cut-offs in recent months.
