A handful of leading catering equipment distributors have visited the newly-built Frima factory in Europe as the cooking equipment manufacturer looks to step up engagement with the market.
The recently-built Wittenheim facility, which is located on boarder between France and Germany, has doubled the company’s production capacity and has been built to keep up with increasing demand for the multifunctional VarioCooking Center cooking technology. The factory extension features a new production hall with an additional assembly cell and state-of-the-art logistics.
The industry professionals attending the trip represented companies included Court Catering, Millers Catering, Swift Catering, South East Commercial Kitchens and Shine Food Machinery.
Rational UK technical sales director, Graham Kille, commented: “These informative trips give our partners the opportunity to learn about further developments of the VarioCooking Center and the benefits that they deliver to professional kitchens.”
The VarioCooking Center is one of the market leaders in its sector because it provides energy efficient and flexible use as a space-saving, fast cooking solution.
Julian Shine, managing director of Shine said: “The visit reinforced my opinions of both food preparation and bulk cooking. It also changed my views of the excellent suitability of the VarioCooking Center for a la carte service.”
Kille concluded: “The connected kitchen is the future and dealers heard about the ConnectedCooking, the latest technology innovation offered by Rational and Frima.”
ConnectedCooking allows users to link their SelfCookingCenter and VarioCooking Center units to a network, and monitor operation over the internet.
With the VarioCooking Center, caterers can check on overnight cooking processes from home, managers can check on operational efficiency of multiple units and maintenance engineers can check a unit’s status. Connectivity will make kitchens safer and more efficient, and make managing equipment simpler.
