Dealer’s Choice in focus: hot holding and transportation

Falcon's Vario-Therm meal delivery trolleys were voted as the Dealer's Choice in the hot holding and transportation category.

Catering Insight took a look back at the achievements of the UK catering equipment industry over the last 12 months with the Dealer’s Choice initiative.

We put a call out to senior distributor executives to find out what their favourite lockdown launches would be and nearly 300 were invited to demonstrate their ‘Dealer’s Choice’ for products in 11 categories.

In the hot holding and transportation category, 55% of dealers plumped for Falcon’s Vario-Therm meal delivery trolleys.

Falcon’s completely new range of innovative meal delivery systems is aimed primarily at the healthcare and educational catering sectors. The Vario-Therm trolleys are designed to combine advanced features with practical benefits, superior ergonomics and the ability to use the latest connectivity technology.

Models are available in several variations, with one or two GN1/1 compartments which can be refrigerated or heated. There is also the Vario compartment option, which can be heated or refrigerated. It can be used as a fridge to hold chilled food, then switched to an oven to cook when desired. The trolleys also feature a large heated hot top for serving.

The refrigeration system uses natural refrigerants and is designed to deliver energy efficiency. The oven’s innovative power sharing and multi-stage cooking feature should provide culinary consistency and flexibility. All features are accessed at the touch of a button.

Typical of the technologies of the Vario-Therm meal delivery trolley is the optional connectivity feature, which takes HACCP and key data recording to the next level. With the ability to constantly monitor, record and store data for up to 5 years, Vario-Therm meal delivery trolleys are designed to make compliance easy.

Using Falcon’s Connected Kitchen system, the trolleys will also warn staff instantly if anything is wrong in terms of operating parameters – such as an oven not reaching the correct temperature – allowing quick action to remedy any potential issues and minimise downtime.
