At the start of 2016, Dawson Food Service Equipment’s finance director Michelle Frost was involved in charitable activity at Birdwell Methodist Church, located near the supplier’s head office in Barnsley.

Frost and a hand full of community members volunteered to help serve a New Year’s lunch to the local older people in the area who were unfortunately spending the day alone.

The service ran smoothly until it came to the 5 hour slog of ‘washing the pots’. The Methodist church had a broken dishwasher installed, which meant over 100 covers of plate and cutlery had to be manually washed.

Seeing the volunteers struggle through this task after such a successful event, the team at Dawson kindly donated a new Comenda LF324 MA dishwasher with installation, which amounted to a total of over £4,000.

Frost commented: “It’s extremely important to Dawson and me personally that we support local charities, groups and people wherever we can.

“Our team in the office are all local people and we value the community feel we have in our area. The church was in great need of support and this donation will go a long way to supporting further events and charity fundraisers.”
