ABDA Creative Design and Build has appointed David Hones as senior catering designer after a growing list of upcoming projects meant that more expertise was needed.
After five-and-a-half years working for London-based Nelson Catering Equipment, Hones has made the move to ABDA’s Northampton home, where he will put his experience, degree in Product Design and Catering Foodservice Professional accreditation to good use.
Hones has already got stuck into his new role, which involves working with his colleagues to design catering equipment into kitchens and other related areas such as wash ups and serveries.
He reported: “The ABDA Design team have been very welcoming. I have been put to work straight away on a variety of exciting projects, and I am getting the opportunity to transfer my skills into the ABDA Design way.”
Drawing projects in a variety of CAD programs to create 2D plans, 3D conceptual drawings and photorealistic renders will also be a big part of Hones’ role, as well as specifying equipment manufacturers and working with the interior design team to create design proposals, and discussing concepts with clients on-site.
David Summers, MD at ABDA Design, said: “We’re extremely happy to welcome David to our team; he joins at an extremely exciting time as we’re currently experienced a period of growth.
“David’s skill and expertise in commercial kitchen design will be of great value to ABDA Design and we’re delighted to be growing our talented team of designers.”
