Hotelympia will take place in April from 2014 onwards, the show’s organisers have announced.
The event has traditionally taken place during January, but organisers hope that moving it to the spring will be better for exhibitors and visitors.
Next year’s show will run for four days, rather than five, kicking off on April 28 at London’s ExCeL and running until May 1.
The date and duration changes aren’t the only tweaks that organisers Fresh Montgomery have made to the format.
They have also announced that the show will be concentrated in one extended hall, making it easier for visitors to navigate the attractions without the disruption of the central boulevard.
Toby Wand, managing director of Fresh Montgomery, said: “The changes to the event overall have been implemented to further improve the experience for exhibitors and visitors alike, and encourage greater dwell times, while moving to a date later in the year will mean we can maximise the longer days to full business effect.”
Keith Warren, director of CESA, welcomed the decision to shift the date. “It’s tremendously exciting to have Hotelympia in one giant hall, while staging it later in the year should ensure an even better experience for visitors and exhibitors alike,” he stated.
