Daewoo rebuilds UK distribution structure

Daewoo Electronics has finally established its new distribution structure for UK commercial microwave sales after recently parting company with Valera.

The company has officially appointed Gosport-based Regale Microwave Ovens and Hereford-based Axon Enterprises as wholesalers for the range.

Both companies will be able to supply dealers with products from Daewoo’s microwave portfolio.

Daewoo was forced to rethink its UK microwave plans after exclusive UK distribution partner Valera went into administration during October, less than three months after it had appointed the firm to help it launch the range to the market.

Although Daewoo has been manufacturing commercial microwaves for other brands for a number of years, it is the first time it has released a range under its own label.

Simon Drought, sales director of Daewoo Electronics, said he felt the company now had a solid structure in place to build on the interest it has had in microwaves from the trade prior to Valera’s difficulties.

“We are delighted to be working with two highly professional companies that I am sure will offer an excellent service,” he said.

Daewoo is also understood to be close to appointing an official services partner, with an announcement expected this week.
