Italian manufacturer Pinti Inox has recently launched an alternative to disposable cutlery items with its new ‘Use & Reuse’ range, which it says is eco-friendly and sustainable.
Ahead of the single-use plastic cutlery ban coming in 2021 and the ban on plastic straws in October 2020, the Use & Reuse range could give hospitality operators an alternative in terms of sustainability and cost.
The Use & Reuse range offers a choice of cutlery options: stainless cutlery (table knife, fork, spoon and tea spoon), stainless-steel straws with pipe cleaner and ‘Happy Hour’ small cutlery for small food (eg, tapas, snacks).
All products are designed to be 100% recyclable and reusable. The pieces are designed to not break or bend, meaning items should be able to be washed and used again, repeatedly.
For restaurants with a takeaway offer, Pinti Inox has also developed its first 100% compostable and biodegradable cutlery range, ‘Pinti Bio’, produced with cornstarch (CPLA), suitable for food contact.
