Maidaid has lent its support to a Cumbria-based catering equipment partner that is holding a fundraiser for a two year-old boy who has cancer.

Border Food Machinery is hoping to raise funds to help one of its commercial customers pay for their son, Stanley, to receive life-saving treatment.

Maidaid has supplied a warewashing machine that is being raffled off to help raise money.

The family were told last month that their son Stanley’s cancer -T cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia – had returned for a third time and there was nothing more could be done.

There only hope is to send Stanley to Singapore to receive treatment that would cost a minimum of £500,000.

The family said: “Stanley has been so strong throughout everything, this is his only chance and we have to try to save our son.

“Please support us in trying to raise these funds as quickly as possible. If we managed to raise more than we need any other monies would go to fund research or to help other families that need to explore other treatment options for their poorly children.”

Border Food Machinery is selling 50 raffle tickets at £30 each to raise funds for the Save our Stan appeal. Once sold, the company will use a random number generator to pick the winner of the dishwasher, worth £2,220.

Stanley has been treated in the Great North Children’s Hospital based at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.

In just two weeks, more than £310,000 has been donated to a fundraising page, which can be found here.
