Service and maintenance firm Crystaltech has solved dishwasher issues for coffee shop chain 200 Degrees Coffee.
The Nottingham-headquartered brand has branches in Nottingham city centre, Birmingham and concessions in a number of garden centres.
Poor dishwasher results at several of its coffee shop sites meant that all items were being hand washed, prior to entering the dishwasher, to ensure that cleanliness standards were being maintained.
An initial site visit allowed Crystaltech to identify the wash result issues. These included problems with machine set-up, baskets showing poor quality and staff were pre-washing everything.
As well as delivering a tailored fix for each specific site, the engineers at Crystaltech provided advice on best practices for keeping dish and glasswashers in optimum operational condition, moving forward.
Crystaltech offered a free trial of a new chlorinated chemical which is said to both improve results and save energy costs. A rapid-results, on-site bioluminescence test was carried out both before the problems were fixed and again after, to demonstrate the improvement in wash results using lower temperatures and removing the need for the pre-wash, meaning a saving on valuable staff time.
Crystaltech worked with the current chemicals supplier for 200 Degrees Coffee to stock the recommended product range.
Tom Vincent, MD of 200 Degrees Coffee reported: “Our reputation across all of our café sites is really important and there is no point serving great coffee in dirty cups. Derek from Crystaltech understood our issues and a solution was found very quickly which has not only saved us money but also valuable staff time!”
