Corsair Wholesale signs logistics contract

Corsair Wholesale Limited has signed a contract with Norbert Dentressangle that will see the logistics provider manage all of its equipment deliveries.

The company, which trades as Valera — its original name before it became part of Unitech last year — will rely on Norbert Dentressangle to handle the movement of equipment from brands such as Sanyo, Fagor, Jordao Cooling Systems and Masterfrost.

Norbert Dentressangle will use two-man crews from its Specialist Services operation to collect orders from Corsair’s Banbury office for consolidation at its Leighton Buzzard facility, prior to final delivery.

“We asked a number of third party operators to tender for the distribution of our products and Norbert Dentressangle’s Specialist Services solution offered the best combination of cost for two-man deliveries together with a flexible next-day service,” said Pratap Gadhvi, managing director at Valera.

Gadhvi said Norbert Dentressangle’s large UK network would be able to effectively service its customer base, while understanding the unique requirements of the catering equipment business.

“We also have the option of using Norbert Dentressangle’s pan-European network to import products going forward,” he added.

Management at Valera will input orders via Norbert Dentressangle’s SharpNet system, which automatically feeds into the company’s bespoke transportation management solution, SHARP 4. This provides easy access to real time proof of delivery information.

The transport giant has a long track record of working with the catering equipment industry and provides flexible shared-user 48-hour delivery nationwide, supported by next-day delivery as required.

This is backed by a range of added value services, such as pre-delivery calls, centralised customer service management, site surveys, installation and the disposal of packaging and existing equipment.

Norbert Dentressangle is one of the UK’s largest logistics and transport companies, with more than 12,800 employees across 195 sites, 1,800 vehicles and 2.5 million square metres of warehousing.
