Cornwall College to refurbish training kitchens


Cornwall College is to spend upwards of £175,000 refurbishing the training kitchens used by its catering students.

Tender documents reveal that the college is looking to appoint a supplier that can provide, install and maintain commercial kitchen equipment within its catering and hospitality department at Camborne.

The provision includes the design, supply and installation of new and existing commercial catering equipment to four training kitchens, one commercial kitchen and one store area.

The tender details estimated the value of the project at between £175,000 and £350,000 excluding VAT.

Cornwall College is carrying out the catering upgrade as part of a refurbishment of the Carlyon building located at its Camborne campus.

The project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Skills Funding Agency (Enhanced Renewal Grant).

The college said the tender will be managed through education procurement e-tendering software In-Tend, with interested suppliers required to download all relevant documentation via the platform. The deadline date for tender submissions is 26 March.
