Contract caterer buys into cafe chain

Catering Group CH&Co has snapped up a 50% stake in London cafe chain Apostrophe in a move that it expects to open up a raft of new commercial opportunities.

CH&Co has also signed a master franchise agreement with Apostrophe, allowing it to deliver the Apostrophe brand at the catering venues it serves, including tourist attractions and corporate offices.

The commercial caterer now owns six operating brands.

Apostrophe launched its first outlet more than a decade ago and is now in 18 locations throughout the capital. Two more outlets are scheduled to open in the coming months, CH&Co has confirmed.

Amir Chen, CEO of Apostrophe, said the tie-up combines its high street presence with leading contract catering expertise.

“This joint venture gives Apostrophe the ability to grow into new markets, which were previously inaccessible,” he stated. “It also provides Apostrophe with additional fire power to expand its presence on the high street and underpins a focused and ambitious growth strategy for the future.”
