Specialist warewasher supplier Commercial Dishwasher Solutions teamed up with manufacturer Classeq to outfit The Hilton London Wembley Hotel with a new warewasher.
The hotel’s facilities manager, Jo Thiara, detailed the key challenges his staff face: “As a hotel that hosts many guests through an extensive combination of events, conferences, corporate hospitality and restaurant dining, we need to ensure that we can effectively and efficiently handle the high volumes of glassware that is used.
“We can have a large amount of guest residents in the hotel at any given time, but on match and event days the number of people within the hotel can grow significantly with additional diners and corporate hospitality guests, so it is of paramount importance that we don’t run out of clean glasses.
“We have staff stationed in a centralised dedicated warewashing area within our main kitchen which services our conference and banqueting needs and the restaurants. This area operates constantly from 7am until midnight, every day. Our brief was the need for a quality machine that could handle our glassware volumes, but it had to be good value for money too and very straightforward to operate.”
Therefore the hotel worked with Simon Gentle, MD of Commercial Dishwasher Solutions, on specifying the right solution.
Thiara commented: “The Classeq CST Conveyor Warewasher fulfilled the brief for a number of reasons: its simplicity of operation – there is just one button needed to operate it, the staff can constantly monitor the clearly visible wash temperatures, reassuring all that it’s up to temperature and fully sanitising during the wash cycle.
“The clean down of the machine at the end of every shift is very easy and the price was really very competitive for the size of machine and its operational capabilities. And a final, deciding factor, was that Classeq was able to modify the CST machine’s working parameters, setting up lower wash and rinse temperatures, so the washer would operate specifically for our glassware washing needs.”
Gentle added: “This is ‘a first’ within the Hilton Group of hotels; there aren’t any other dedicated Classeq CST glasswashing machines set-up like this. This is also the first Classeq warewasher that Hilton Hotels has specified.
“This particular ‘CST Conveyor machine’ has been installed with full tabling, sink and prewash spray to enhance a very efficient flow of glasses through the process. Operationally the machine’s performance is so good, it can handle 100 racks per hour of varying glasses and with the addition of a bespoke dedicated reverse osmosis system fitted specifically for this site, the glasses come out gleaming time after time, no further polishing required, saving the Hilton’s staff further valuable time.”
The Classeq CST is said to be an easy machine to use with results achieved in minimum time – the machine’s wash cycles should allow operators to gain maximum output, quickly, without compromising the quality of the wash.
All Classeq warewashing machines are manufactured in Britain, which Thiara believes is: “definitely an added bonus”, alongside the other positives he reports he has experienced so far with the machine and the service.
He concluded: “I have to praise Simon, his team and Classeq on a straightforward and smooth process of buying and installing this machine – they were personable, very helpful and all went to plan. I’m extremely happy that our machine is running very well, it looks great, the results are really good and it’s saving our staff really valuable time.”
The Hilton London Wembley has taken a 4-year 5-star service contract in addition to 12 months’ warranty on this machine.
