New entrants to the catering equipment market are popping up all the time, but the Catering Insight Emerging Distributor of the Year accolade, sponsored by Jestic Foodservice Equipment, will honour a dealer that was established less than 5 years ago, and which is making a name for itself by growing its business through winning new projects and delivering high levels of service.

Advent Catering Equipment
Ex-Newco engineers Nicki Neal and Craine Emms struck out on their own to form Advent Catering Equipment in 2015. From a base in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, the firm focuses on servicing and repair of catering kit. The dealer prides itself on ‘old-fashioned’ values, offering a bespoke service and delivering beyond expectations, such as setting up quarterly meetings with a customer who owns a group of wedding venues to discuss how they can get the most from their service budget.
Apeiron Catering Engineers
Since former Carford service engineers, Mark Saville and Will Oryino, established Apeiron at the end of 2014, the company has picked up many repeat customers and grown its staff roster, including another engineer. Passionate about customer care, the firm has become a Rational service partner and was recently asked to attend AFC Bournemouth to carry out a site survey and installation of its new Rational ovens. This year it also carried out a complete installation of a new walk in coldroom.
Catering Equipment Support
Now into its fifth year of operation, Eastleigh-based Catering Equipment Support has gone from strength to strength, quickly reaching a professionalism which could compete with large multi-national organisations and tender for large contacts. Having just completed a £390,000 project to refit Chichester College, CES feels this scheme reflects its values to create truly bespoke solutions based on a rigorous assessment of its clients’ needs and to use its expertise to provide advice.
iFour Hospitality Design
A new name in the industry, iFour Hospitality Design has been built around the experience of the two directors, Lee Swiffen and Paul Martin. With nearly 40 years combined knowledge, they are building the business from the ground up, and in the first 6 months have already completed several high profile projects up to circa £250,000, including a stunning nature-themed design at Squirrel cafe in London. The firm prides itself on quality and adaptability to working to changing project timescales.
Peachmans Catering Equipment
Evolving from former company Peachmans Refrigeration Services, the new Peachmans Catering Equipment was established in October 2015 by BI CES MD Andrew Jones. In its first 12 months the Ramsey-based firm has 21 contract customers, a portfolio of 300 active customers and a turnover of just under £1m. Projects include a full refurbishment of Plattens fish and chips shop in Wells and a new catering facility at Holkham Hall. The firm has invested in training and supporting its engineers.
The electronic vote to choose the winner will open on Monday 31 October, when senior supplier representatives will receive an e-mail invite to participate.
