C&C Catering Equipment
C&C has proudly celebrated its 35th year of uninterrupted trading in 2016, posting a record turnover. Working throughout the UK, with recent projects ranging from Aberdeen to Bournemouth, its project director even visited Holland to understand the customer’s requirements and how an operation could be successfully incorporated into the UK scheme. The dealer also became parent company to both C&C Catering Engineers and C&C Catering Fabrications, strengthening its market position.

Catering Design Group
2016 marked CDG’s 25th anniversary by unveiling an ambitious plan to double its turnover in the next 5 years. And it looks like it’s on its way to achieving that, by at one stage this year winning £1m of business with prestigious projects including at Blenheim Palace and Kingston University. Two projects at London’s Barbican Centre have garnered praise, while outfits at Raemoir Garden Centre near Aberdeen and the University of Glasgow have proved the firm’s expertise up and down the country.

Court Catering Equipment
London’s Court Catering Equipment has been very international of late, completing two projects in Paris and one in Ireland. As well as its 3-year Le Cordon Bleu outfit, it also undertook an outfit at Charles De Gaulle airport, while simultaneously outfitting a school kitchen in the UK. Having grown its UK business by over 20% this year, it has increased its project management team to seven, as well as creating a field-based technical manager position and having two apprentices qualify as engineers.

Space Group
Space has had a big year thanks to its buyout by Nisbets, and the dealer is proud that it has been part of two very different but equally successful acquisitions, with its takeover of Holmes Catering Equipment less than 2 years ago. The business is growing, including a roll-out of eight projects for one major aerospace client, all handed over within 8 weeks thanks to its Holmes and Interiors divisions. It has invested in upgrading machinery, as well as creating 10 new roles across the group.

Vision Commercial Kitchens
With projects from the northern isles of Scotland down to England’s south coast, Vision Commercial Kitchens has posted another successful year. It has focused on its structure and people, concentrating on project delivery in more detail and investing more resources into this. The recruitment drive has been across the board, for project managers, sales support and servicing, with five new joiners. It has also invested in training and extra benefits for staff, such as health insurance.

The 2016 Catering Insight Awards is supported by Cedabond.
