Chris Drury sadly passes away

Chris Drury helped Valera to launch its own range of microwaves.

Valera’s former microwave expert Chris Drury has tragically passed away at the age of 69 following a major elective operation.

Chris was a key figure in the microwave sector for over 40 years.

He worked initially with Litton between 1977 and 1991 before moving onto Menumaster from 1991 to 1993.

Chris then transferred to Valera and was there until this year – working with the management team to help launch the Valera range of microwave ovens.

Chris was known for his marketing ability and drive, working to internationally promote microwave heating, and his product knowledge was described as being incredible.

He held several managerial positions during his career including product development manager, marketing manager and product manager.

He will be missed by his family and extended family in the catering equipment industry.

    I have had the privilege of knowing Chris for many years in our industry. He was always courteous in his demeanor and this was combined with a willingness to share his knowledge with great enthusiasm. All in all, a great guy who will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to know and work with him. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family and his colleagues.
